In the summer of 2018, resident J35 Orca whale off the coast of British Columbia lost her calf shortly after birth. For 17 days J35 did what appeared to be mourning to our eyes. The powerful emotions it arose across the globe was astounding. Better than any human could, this incredible, intelligent creature showed us what grief felt like.

Each unique image is created using naturally coloured and dyed wool from the home farm flock, cotton thread stitching, and bamboo embroidery hoops.
